Packages for Oregon Moose Hunters
Oregon has no moose hunting season. Only a tiny herd of around 60 animals lives in the state’s northeast corner, and there is no tag available. Oregon hunters who want a real bull travel to Newfoundland, home to roughly 120,000 moose and an 85% guided success rate.
Our packages give Oregon hunters the moose hunt their home state can’t offer.
Includes: License, food guides, local transportation, accommodations (8 guests per week max), Argo & ATV transportation, Internet Service at camp, Limited Cellular Service at camp
Packages for Oregon Bear Hunters
Oregon has bears, but voters banned bait and hounds for bear hunting in 1994, so a classic baited hunt is off-limits at home. On our exclusive grounds you can experience it the way it’s meant to be done, with limited tags each season.
Newfoundland black bears grow large and dark. Check out our bear hunting packages!
Includes: License, Food, Accommodations, Local Transportation, and Space for 4 people per hunt.
Packages For Oregon Atlantic Salmon Anglers
Oregon has Pacific salmon, but wild Atlantic salmon are a different fish you won’t find in Oregon’s rivers. Our anglers fish for Atlantic salmon, Brook trout, and Sea Run trout in cold, clear Newfoundland waters.
Our exclusive fishing packages round out an unforgettable trip.
Includes: License, food guides, local transportation, accommodations (8 guests per week max), Cargo and ATV, Internet Service at camp, Limited Cellular Service at camp

FAQs From Our Oregon Hunters
Garia Bay Outfitters offers a unique combination of pristine wilderness, a high concentration of wildlife, and personalized service. With access to some of the most scenic and wildlife-rich areas in Newfoundland, we provide hunters with a true adventure in an untouched natural environment. Our success rates for moose and bear hunts are among the highest in North America, thanks to the concentration of animals and our experienced guides.
Moose in Newfoundland tend to be sizable, with many reaching over 1,000 pounds. Black bears in the region can also grow large, with some exceeding 400 pounds. The combination of dense forests and abundant food sources creates optimal conditions for these animals to grow to impressive sizes, making for great trophy opportunities.
At Garia Bay Outfitters, all hunts are fully guided by experienced local guides who are knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and the best hunting techniques. Our guides ensure that you have the highest chance of success while keeping safety as a top priority. Whether you’re an experienced hunter from Oregon or new to the sport, our guides will assist you every step of the way.
Newfoundland’s terrain around Garia Bay is rugged, remote, and breathtakingly diverse, offering a true wilderness experience for hunters. The landscape is characterized by dense boreal forests, moss-covered ground, rolling hills, and expansive wetlands. Towering cliffs and serene, crystal-clear lakes are scattered throughout, providing stunning backdrops as you hunt. This varied terrain presents some physical challenges, especially when navigating thick underbrush, uneven rocky ground, and marshy areas.
The weather in Newfoundland can also add to the challenge, as it can shift quickly from bright and clear to foggy or rainy. High winds, cooler temperatures, and unpredictable precipitation mean it’s essential to come well-prepared with layered clothing and durable, waterproof gear. Our experienced guides will be with you every step of the way, helping you safely navigate the terrain for a successful and memorable experience.
While we cannot guarantee specific trophy sizes due to the nature of wild hunting, Garia Bay has a strong track record of producing large moose and black bears. Our area is known for having a healthy, thriving population of both species, and many hunters leave with impressive trophies. Our guides are highly experienced in identifying and targeting the best game to increase your chances of landing a trophy-worthy animal.
To legally transport your firearm from the US to Canada for hunting, you’ll need to follow specific regulations, such as completing a Non-Resident Firearm Declaration and ensuring your firearm complies with Canadian law. We strongly recommend researching the most up-to-date requirements or contacting us for guidance.
Canada Border Services Agency: Import and export a firearm or weapon into Canada
